Phase-wise development of the hospital
To achieve the greatest possible flexibility setting up the Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital for Children should be developed in a phase-wise approach. The hospital will open in at least 2 phases.
Phase 1 will include an Out Patient Department, General Medicine-Paediatric Clinic, Ward and Support Services (such as Laboratory and Radiology). In this way a comparatively large number of patients can be treated with limited human and financial resources at an early phase of operation.
Phase 2 will include the Emergency Department, Operating Theater, Labor and Delivery Wards as well as a more complete array of Support Services. In that way the medical service profile will be gradually extended in accordance with local needs and available resources.
Target will be to have the Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital for Children operating as a fully functional hospital on international standard with all required medical services and training programs for local doctors.
